( alastor moody ) - forty-five, marauders, head auror, david harbour

the asshole your parents warned you about. moody lives up to his name by being, well, moody. he’s a grumpy old man who doesn’t particularly take kindly to the spotty youths that drag themselves through the ministry, spouting the name auror. if you’re on his good side then you get a mumbled hello in the morning and are allowed to tail him when he heads out on raids; if you’re not, you might as well soil your pants now because you’ll be doing it some point soon anyway.
perhaps he goes out of his way to frighten the pipsqueaks that have a few too many chips on their shoulders, but what’s a little fun between morbidity and murder? deep down, he’s got issues, leading back to his family, his mother’s death and his father’s subsequent isolation. he’s somewhat of an alcoholic like his old dad, but hides it pretty well. he’s pre-leg and pre-eye, still looking worse for wear but not as damaged as he finds out he is when jumped to present day.
he’s not happy, not by a long shot. not to find out he lost a limb, not to find out he died, not to find out his eye was used as an ornament by a ministry colleague. this place is not his jam and he is floundering in the new technology thrust at him. there’s pipsqueaks in the ministry again and moody does not like it.

( ida yaxley ) - thirty-three, riddle, housewife, tbd

a pureblood princess wrapped in a bare-faced lie. originally born to an israeli-polish family, she was born to a muggle her father had decided to bed in their little village. her mother took her in, but made her life miserable for it. she grew up in a gilded cage, home schooled and never allowed to make a single friend. she was married off to the (now) eldest yaxley and she believed her life would never get any better. he was a drunk, a womaniser, had a reputation as long as a piece of string and she was still trapped.
except, she wasn’t. he was kinder than she gave him credit for, he had a good soul and she found herself falling in love with his faults and scars. her view of blood purity is warped, and she cares more about the lives of the house elves across the country than she does about her own parents. perhaps she’s her own kind of embarrassment - she’s sure there are rumours circling about her life too.
they have two grown up children in present day and are startled to find out their son broke away from their little family to follow his grandparents’ ideals in fervent blood purity. their daughter, however, developed an even sweeter look on the world than her mother. there are fractures and fissures and ida is terrified of being in a place she doesn’t understand.

twenty-four / florist & medium / all star / anya taylor-joy

native and well-known, if only for her ability to befriend just about anyone. sofia is the embodiment of sunshine, she is sweet, and kind, and caring, and will walk up to you on the street to compliment your dress, or your hair, or the smell of your aftershave. perhaps there’s naivety in that, but sofia doesn’t quite see it that way. in her mind, the world is a wonderful place and she’ll revel in the beauty of it. at least, half of the time it is; the other half, it’s a frightening landscape of paranoia and fear, mainly due to her schizophrenia that manifested when she was a child. she thinks she can hear the voices of the dead, but some of them can be rather rude.
but, she means no one any harm and runs roses and posies, a sweet little flower shop-come-psychic parlour for the residents of fox pass. it gives her a chance to interact with a lot of people, which is her favourite thing in the world, and to be surrounded by something she truly adores: flowers.
needs: friends!!!!!! from people she knew in high school, to regular customers for both of her businesses, to people she met on the street. she’s currently five months pregnant, so people that she could’ve met through mummy and prenatal classes. she’s also part of a therapy group (where she met her now boyfriend) that’s for people with grand delusions - i’ll put up a proper request on site, but essentially it’s for people who think they’re supernatural creatures!!!! maybe even someone that she’s recently taken on in her florists that’s learning the ropes!!

forty-four / amateur poet & playwright / truly madly deeply / wagner moura

a shy soft boi™ with a heart of gold, gabriel is a native to fox pass and those who have either heard his name or recognise his face will do so for one of two reasons: either from his father, a horrible drunk who made an enemy of everyone he met, or from the papers and local gossip as the man whose three year old son tragically drowned in the pond in his backyard. his girlfriend and her family (and his own father) were convinced he’d done the deed himself and the police and local papers were involved - gabriel was acquitted with no evidence linking him and his son’s death was ruled an accident. however, this sent him into a spiralling depression that ended with him at nearly 300lbs and a recluse.
it wasn’t until he met his now wife, accidentally, in town, that he came out of his shell. they have a little girl together and he’s more confident; enough to be running the local amateur arts society, writing plays and putting forward classics for locals to act in, play music in and generally get involved in. he’s a real gentle soul and is starting to go out of his comfort zone to make more and more friends.
needs: tbh he needs friends! either people that he knew from school, people that he knew before he became a recluse or ones he’s made more recently - likely through his wife as she has a lot more confidence than he does. his mother (sonia braga pls for brazilian lovelies) who has been missing from his life since he was eight years old and has recently come back to fox pass!!!! people involved in the amateur theatre group would be amazin!!!!!!! even if they don’t act they can put forward plays or play music!
